How researchers are bringing AI-enabled radiology to rural India

Lack of proper medical screening is a major issue in India. Awareness regarding proper medical screening and healthcare is on the rise, though. Even so, most Indians live in rural areas, while the vast majority of medical centers capable of radiology and other health screening are located in cities. Furthermore, there are only about three radiologist for every million Indians. Project MIRIAD is looking to help solve this issue. The plan is to use deep neural networks to improve the screenings that people are getting. Resulting in more accurate results and more lives saved.
